Modern Still Life Drawing Workshop with Hackney Arts

Join us for a Modern Still Life Drawing workshop in conjunction with the amazing Hackney Arts, at the Barge House in Haggerston. The Mark Makers is a London based pop up drawing workshop, run by working practitioner Alice Nyong. Fun and non – stuffy; the Mark Makers is couple of hours for yourself, to just be creative and expressive with no pressure from others or from yourself.

This workshop aims to offer a new way of interpreting the traditional medium of still life, which perhaps you might have learnt at school, and more often than not been a bit bored by. By conceiving colourful, sassy and dynamic still lives (no dead fruit or skulls here) Alice creates beautiful shapes, colours and subject matter which make getting more confident with drawing and mark making a fun process.

Alice works as a freelance illustrator and designer, and shares the skills she uses every day both in her own work and in industry to give insider knowledge and mark making fundamentals in accessible demonstrations and exercises. This class is great for all skill sets, whether you’re a master mark maker or a total beginner.

The Mark Makers @ Beach London

The Mark Makers is a London based pop up drawing workshop, run by illustrator Alice Nyong.

TICKETS HERE

Join us on Saturday November 25th, 11-1pm at our Gallery in Kentish Town. £30pp

Fun and non - stuffy; the workshops offer a new way of interpreting the traditional medium of still life, which people perhaps remember from school, more often than not in a boring way. Turning this idea into something fun, using original props (Think disco balls, tropical fruit and colour; no skulls or dead flowers in sight) and creating lots of drawing exercises to warm people up, and bring out creativity.

Alice works as a professional illustrator so is on hand with demonstrations and hands-on hints and tips to help you get the hang of drawing techniques, Release your creativity with fun observational drawing whilst learning something about how to use the materials, and generally having a couple of hours to yourself to make marks on a page.

The ticket price includes light refreshments, all materials to use in the session as well as a curated kit of materials to take away to help you get drawing at home, as well as beautiful worksheets illustrated by Alice. You leave with some great original artwork to take away, as well as the tools to do so and a thirst to learn more.
